Susan,
Everything you and your family is done with such beauty and grace.
You make each stage of life something to embrace.
Thanks so much, Patty. Those words are beautiful, and your encouragement means a great deal to me. In these past 3 posts – all about small, idiosyncratic aspects of life – I feel as if I’ve been freed from the self-imposed, burdensome imperative to address big ideas or none at all. Eureka! Now if someone would just pay me for it! Haha. And onward.
Reading this made me teary-eyed and wistful and also made me smile. So many memories, such well-lived lives. Beautiful!
Thanks so much, Judy. And deep thanks for being a loving part of those memories.
Another beautifully written story Susie…and love your illustrations.
Thanks so much, Barb. Hope all’s going well in paradise.
It is bittersweet to leave a house with so many memories. May the future bring many more happiness in your new home.
Thanks, Marianne. The new home is a haven. And the guest room has a skylight – just saying!
I was set to leave you a comment. Then I read the three previous ones. All I can say is “ditto.” Thanks for sharing your art, your family, and your memories.
Thanks so much, Matilda! It’s my pleasure, truly!
Dear Susie, I am in awe of you! You are so very talented in everything you do and your stories are so inspiring. They make me cry. Intelligence cannot describe how smart you are. Please tell your Mom I am so sorry that she had to give a house she shared with your Dad & all of your family. I hope you and she will have a wonderful life in your new home. I wish we could get together sometime – maybe for lunch (the three of us)? I can come to you. Love you guys, Beth
Thanks so much, Beth! That sounds lovely.
P.S. I meant “give” up a house…. Sorry.
Beautiful, Suse. Thanks so much for putting this into eloquent words and pictures, so we can share this moment.
Thanks, Meem. We’re all definitely part of this picture.
My deepest thanks for putting on the page what is in our hearts,
My honor and pleasure.
