About Susan Spangler
I'm a graphic designer and illustrator, observer and survivor. My website, www.susanspangler.com, contains a wide portfolio of my projects and images – some for pay, most for love, many for both. These graphic essays are inspired by things that catch my eye, my ear, my heart. Funny, confounding, astounding and encouraging, all at once. You know. Life.
That’s so moving, Susie. I’m forwarding it to some friends.

Thanks so much, Sue. Happy Passover!
such wonderful stories, Susie –
And beautiful to read them all as a continuing story.
The scenes on the train are remarkable – all of it.
thank you –
So enjoyed reading these stories, thank you Susie.
Thanks so much, Barb!
Thank you so much for sharing every one of these stories. Each family has its own circumstances and way of framing its experiences. From a multifaith family, I am always fascinated by how people do or do not incorporate various parts of their history, culture, religion. I like a friend’s mention of various descriptors rather than identities, as I am made up of so many elements.
Thanks so much for your thoughtful message, Carol!
love this. thanks.

Thanks so much, Elsa.
Thank you, Susie, for sharing these stories and remembrances of Passover with your wonderful parents.
Thanks so much, Judy!
Oh Susie this is profound! I was born in 1945 so never experienced WW2 but have spent a lifetime reading about it. I cannot imagine how awful it was for Lilli and her family. I have many Jewish friends so I do know about the holidays and their meanings. I am heartbroken over what’s happening in Ukraine. It seems like WW2 all over again. I pray for Ukraine every night. Thank you for your wonderful words! We must never forget the suffering that happened in those years! Peace to you and your family!
