I'm a graphic designer & illustrator, observer and survivor. My website, www.susanspangler.com, contains a wide portfolio of my projects and images – some for pay, most for love, many for both. This blog, like most of my artwork, is inspired by things that catch my eye, my ear, my heart. Funny, confounding, astounding and encouraging, all at once. You know. Life.

Thanks so much, dear Meem! As you know, it went through numerous iterations, additions, deletions, consolidations and considerations – including the helpful notes you forwarded me last weekend. It was great to see you then. Hope things have been going smoothly since. Lots of love –s.
I loved this piece. I: 1) wished I was Jewish to have learned such wisdom 2) cried for my own mother who spent her last years feeling un-useful, angry, sad and lonely. 3) resolve to grow up to be more like your Mom and you.

Thank you, Anastasia! And I agree! She is!
Susie, how wonderful and true! My mother-in-law left us last year at 98, and everything you say was true for her. It’s a gift to have these spirits around us; thank you for articulating it so beautifully.
Thanks so much, Carolyn. In addition to good fortune, genetic and otherwise, I think that a loving, open and resilient spirit is the key – at all phases of life!
This is so beautiful, Susie! WOW! You & your amazingly inspirational mom are quite a dynamic duo! Thank you so much to you both for sharing your gifts & insights. 1% 😳
Thanks so much, Cricket! The pleasure is all ours! I loved working with her on this – it has more meaning than I can express to have been able to put this together in collaboration with her. And I agree – she is inspiring! Lucky are we!
